Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement. They are coaches, trainers, officials, event organizers, fundraisers, and event volunteers. They can also be unified partners playing alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities or fans cheering in the stands.

Rewarding for All

For those aiming to make a lasting difference in their community and themselves, joining your local SOAZ is a great way to begin. The Special Olympics Arizona community in Lake Havasu offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities for both returning and new volunteers, providing chances to profoundly affect our athletes and the larger community. By engaging with the SOAZ team, other volunteers, and our exceptional athletes during events, everyone can build meaningful connections and end each event with a sense of joy. Whether your involvement is for a brief afternoon or a lifelong commitment, every volunteer is crucial in nurturing our athletes’ potential and aiding their goal achievement. Volunteers help drive the transformation of our athletes into champions.

Our volunteers range from children as young as seven to adults and seniors, all pouring their passion into ensuring our events are successful. Even children younger than seven can get involved in the fun by accompanying their siblings or parents who are volunteering and bringing their energy to cheer on our athletes. Each volunteer’s dedication, energy, and enthusiasm make them essential pillars of support, propelling our athletes toward triumph. The invaluable impact SOAZ delivers today wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lake Havasu community members who generously give their time and spirit to elevate our athletes and enrich our events. Each volunteer’s contribution, regardless of size, helps us create a more compassionate and vibrant world for our athletes.
