Giving your time and energy to support Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) community brings immense fulfillment and gives each of our volunteers the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others. Volunteering in Eloy gives participants the opportunity to contribute to their community and make a difference in the lives of their neighbors. Our community-centered events leave a positive impact on individuals and families impacted by special needs, but they will also leave a lasting impact on each volunteer who gets involved with SOAZ. Volunteers have the chance to connect with the Eloy community, learn more about individuals in their community, and have fun while serving others. Whether you are excited to cheer athletes on from the sidelines, you are looking forward to helping our planning and logistics team organize SOAZ events, or you are interested in providing emotional support to families, volunteers of all backgrounds and skills will find a place where they can make their impact within our organization. Athletic achievements are celebrated and we love to see our athletes accomplish their goals, but SOAZ is about so much more than just sports: it is about creating enduring bonds of friendship and acceptance within our community. Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement. They are coaches, trainers, officials, event organizers, fundraisers, and event volunteers. They can also be unified partners playing alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities or fans cheering in the stands.

If you’re ready to make a difference in your community and your own life, getting involved with SOAZ is a wonderful place to start. SOAZ has a wide range of volunteer opportunities in Eloy that are excellent for newcomers and seasoned volunteers alike. Our volunteers have the opportunity to engage with athletes and their families, as well as the SOAZ team, their fellow volunteers, and other members of our community at our events. The meaningful connections and sense of inclusivity that are fostered throughout our events help make our community and world a better place. It’s amazing to see the joy on our athletes’ faces when they accomplish their goals but volunteering is rewarding for more than just our athletes: everyone who is involved with SOAZ will feel the profound impact of knowing you helped make a difference in the lives of those around you.

We welcome volunteers of all age groups: from children as young as 7 to teens, adults, and seniors, we are excited to have opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to get involved with our events. The unwavering dedication, energy, and enthusiasm of our volunteers helps carry our athletes over the finish line. We are so grateful for our community of volunteers in Eloy; without the selfless giving of their time and energy, SOAZ would not be able to leave the lasting impact on our community we are so proud of. The sense of compassion, kindness, and joy that can be felt through our events changes the lives of our volunteers; it’s impossible to leave one of our events without being profoundly impacted by our community of passionate individuals. Our volunteers make it all possible, serving as beacons of hope and inspiration and helping us to cultivate an environment of inclusivity and empathy within our community.

The SOAZ team is so proud of our ever-expanding teenage volunteer community in Eloy. Seeing individuals across all age groups give their energy and unique skill sets with enthusiasm and joy makes us so excited for the future of our organization and our community. There are plenty of ways for teens and young adults to get involved: through school-based volunteer opportunities, family outings, or volunteering on your own. However you end up in our community, we are so glad to have you and are excited to support you as you make an impact in the lives of others.
