Volunteering with Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) is an incredibly rewarding experience, offering individuals the opportunity to change the lives of others. Volunteering allows each individual to get more involved in the community, and each and every one of our Special Olympics athletes has been positively impacted by our amazing volunteers. But the impact for these volunteers cannot be overstated: volunteering with SOAZ provides the opportunity to engage with your Chandler community, learn more about members of your community, and have fun while giving back! Whether you want to cheer athletes on from the sidelines, organize events with our planning and logistics teams, or provide emotional support to families and athletes, volunteers of all skillsets are needed to help us foster an inclusive and empowering atmosphere. We celebrate athletic accomplishments and help all of our athletes accomplish their goals, but we also foster a strong sense of friendship, camaraderie, and acceptance within our community. When you volunteer with the SOAZ team in Chandler, you’ll have the opportunity to promote the success of our events and cultivate enduring connections with your fellow volunteers, community members, and, of course, the athletes. The transformative power of sports impacts us all: from athletes to volunteers. Volunteering with SOAZ is about more than just giving time and energy: it’s about sharing your compassion, spreading joy, and being involved in the creation of memories that will last a lifetime. We have countless events throughout the year, and within the Chandler community, there are so many opportunities for you to get involved! Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement. They are coaches, trainers, officials, event organizers, fundraisers, and event volunteers. They can also be unified partners playing alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities or fans cheering in the stands.

Rewarding for All

For those interested in leaving a lasting impact on the community and themselves, getting involved with the local Special Olympics community is a great place to start!
