Some volunteers worry that they don’t have the right skill set to serve their community at SOAZ events, but we know that all you need is enthusiasm. We’ll work hard to find the best position for you, whether that is working behind the scenes to organize one of our amazing events, or standing at the finish line cheering our athletes across. All of our events celebrate athletic talent and personal development while nurturing deep connections of friendship, empathy, and acceptance within the Vail community.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement. They are coaches, trainers, officials, event organizers, fundraisers, and event volunteers. They can also be unified partners playing alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities or fans cheering in the stands.
