AIA Champions Award Winners Announced

Congrats to Scott Gilpin, Madeleine Nemeth and Darnell Moore

The AIA and SOAZ have been partnering to bring competitive Unified Sports to interscholastic play since 2011. Recently, at the virtual AIA Champions Awards ceremony, we saw the best of what Unified has to offer being awarded for their outstanding leadership and commitment to inclusion! Special Olympics Arizona wants to recognize and congratulate Scott Gilpin, Madeleine Nemeth, and Darnell Moore for earning these outstanding honors.

Scott Gilpin (Sunny Slope HighSchool) – Unified Coach of the Year

Madeleine Nemeth (Perry High School) – Unified Partner of the Year

Darnell Moore (Amphitheater High School) – Unified Athlete of the Year

Each of these winners has contributed to the growth of meaningful inclusion on their respective campuses and had a positive impact on their communities. Thank you all so much for what you do and CONGRATULATIONS!
