Free!2023 World Games Basketball Tryouts
Do you play basketball? Do you love inclusion? Do you want to travel to Berlin and compete in the 2023 Special Olympics World Games? Then, this is for you! Special Olympics Arizona is searching for three athletes and two Unified partners to represent Team USA in 3on3 Women’s Basketball. Tryouts for the team will be held Monday, November 14th at the Maryvale Community Center. Selections will be announced within the week.
In order to be selected, players must:
– Be a female athlete or female Unified partner 18 years or older
– Have previous basketball experience
– Have an up-to-date medical and registration on file with SOAZ
– Have the ability to commit to regular practices and community engagement events leading up to the games (exact dates and times to be determined)
– Be available to attend the World Games overseas between June 15th through June 26th, 2023
– Have the ability to travel for long periods of time
– Be able to independently shower, dress, eat, and maintain their overall health
– Follow the athlete and Unified player Code of Conduct
