Sawne’s Mother

Tasha is a Medical Assistant and mother of two when she is not on the basketball court. According to Tasha, discovering Special Olympics has changed her life by introducing her to athletes, partners and coaches, all who have big, kind and caring hearts. She credits the program for transforming her son’s, Sawne’s, life as well.

At first, she solely cheered for Sawne from the sidelines, but about five years ago began playing unified basketball as a partner. Being selected to represent the USA at the Special Olympics World Games in AbuDhabi, is a dream come true for Tasha and her son. She says, It means experiencing something we will share together forever.
