The total number of student experiences within any inclusive activity other than sport or fitness (i.e. eSports, Art, band, theater, robotics, social events, etc.).
An experience = each club or class a student participates in as 1 experience. Also count a tournament, event, competition, etc. as 1 experience for each student.
Ex. 6 students participate in a Unified eSports Club each week for the semester, ending with the Special Olympics Winter eSports League (a competition).12 students form a Unified Art club that meets twice a week for 8 weeks. eSports 6 + eSports Competition 6 + Unified Art 12 = 24 experiences
Total # of IYL Athlete Experiences – This is a cumulative count of the number of students with Intellectual Disabilities in school based leadership clubs such as Unified Club (or a club like it), Best Buddies, Student Council, etc. These experiences should be multiplied by the number of club activity experiences that each of these students had. This should be counted as 1 experience for each student with ID in each IYL club for each semester. Each activity the club implements (a dance, a social, an outing, etc.) should count as 1 additional experience per student with ID.
Ex. Unified Club has 10 students with ID. Unified Club has run a Virtual Trivia Night, a Virtual Social Hour, and a Virtual Game Night. 10 students with ID 10 x (1 club + 3 events) = 40 experiences.
*Please note- planning and organizing a group or team to attend a Polar Plunge counts as an IYL Experience. Attending the Polar Plunge does not count as an IYL experience but a Whole School Engagement experience*
