Our fitness and education programs empower athletes to remain physically active while gaining the tools, knowledge and healthy habits needed to support lifelong wellness.

Train 4 Life™

Train 4 Life™ is a wellness program focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults ages 13+ with intellectual disabilities.

This annual 12-week program includes:

  • Pre- and post-biometric and fitness testing
  • Weekly group workouts
  • Weekly Zoom sessions focused on nutrition, mental wellness, and breath awareness

Through measurable outcomes, Train 4 Life empowers athletes to set realistic health goals and track progress—helping address health disparities faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Project ALL STAR

Project ALL STAR—Active Life and Longevity: Special Olympics Transforming Athlete Results—is Special Olympics’ Inclusive Health Longitudinal Evaluation.
This project studies how participation in Special Olympics programs impacts athletes’ physical, social-emotional, and mental health over time, helping identify long-term benefits of inclusive programming.

Healthy LEAP: Inclusive Health Education

Healthy LEAP is Special Olympics Arizona’s inclusive health education program designed to promote:

  • Increased physical activity
  • Improved nutrition
  • Stronger social connections
  • Enhanced emotional well-being

The program runs for six to eight weeks and focuses on:

  1. Physical Wellness
  2. Nutritional Wellness
  3. Emotional Wellness
  4. Social Wellness

Participating programs receive:

  • A free Coach’s Playbook with lesson plans and guided activities
  • Athlete Playbooks to track progress, set goals, and stay engaged

Healthy LEAP equips individuals with lifelong tools for healthier living.
