Global Virtual LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN Set for Sunday, Sept. 20
Registration for this event is FREE
For four decades, law enforcement, through the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics (LETR) has worked to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
On Sunday September 20th, the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Executive Council will host the Inaugural Global Virtual Torch Run 5K. And the best news? Registration for this event is FREE!
As the Guardians of the Flame, members of law enforcement volunteer countless hours each year and generate ongoing awareness about the Special Olympics mission. Due to COVID-19 many LETR events have had to be rescheduled or canceled. When you run, walk, or bike with LETR on September 20th or anytime in September, you’ll join other caring members of your community showing support for Special Olympics athletes.
You can also show your support anytime in the month of September by taking a photo or video while running or walking a 5K and posting it on social media with the hashtag #GlobalTorchRun.
“The athletes of Special Olympics have taught me about hard work, dedication, teamwork, loyalty and most of all GRIT,” Captain Jeri Roeder of the Lincoln Police Department shared. Together, we can make critical strides towards true inclusion in every community.
