SOAZ to host state basketball and cheer at bell bank park – march 10 and 11

Games will feature more than 1,300 athletes throughout the state of arizona

Special Olympics Arizona is kicking off one its biggest competitions of the year, the 2023 Basketball and Cheerleading State Games, which will feature more than 1,300 SOAZ athletes statewide showcasing their skills in Basketball and Cheer.  Competitions will take place Friday, March 10 and Saturday March 11 at the Bell Bank Park sports and entertainment complex in Mesa.

Basketball events will take place both Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Cheer competitions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Additionally, Healthy Athletes presented by DMG Children’s Rehabilitative Services will offer health-related programming on both Friday (10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.).

Friends, family and fans are encouraged to support all the athletes throughout the 2-day event and to cheer on all of these great competitors in action.  SOAZ merchandise also will be available for purchase from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day to help support Special Olympics Arizona.
