WORLD GAMES
2011 World Summer Games in Athens, June 25th - July 4th
In order for an athlete to be eligible for the lottery for a slot to compete at 2011 World Games, the athlete must have competed in the most recent State competition AND receive a gold medal. World Games are offered every two years on an alternating Winter Games and Summer Games basis. The United States is represented as one delegation under Special Olympics TEAM USA.

SOAZ has recieved the following slots for the 2011 World Games:
- 1 Athletics Female Category 1
- 1 Bocce Female
- 1 Equestrian Male
- 1 Tennis Male Rating 3.0-8.0
Application letters for eligible athletes to enter in the lottery for a spot on the 2011 Team USA for World Games went out July 26, 2010. Applications are due to Nadine Armstrong by the close of business August 20, 2010. Athlete will be notified of the selection by August 27, 2010.
